HR Expert Cheryl Chester Selected As Keynote for Regional Association Meeting

Cheryl Chester will conduct a presentation “Here’s Your Desk … The Art of Onboarding” for the Staffing Management Association (SMA) of Southern New England. She will address: what is onboarding and how it impacts employee engagement, employee retention and organizational success. Chester is Practice Leader, Organizational Effectiveness at KardasLarson, one of Connecticut’s leading HR consulting firms.

In this session, attendees will learn:
• The difference between new hire orientation and onboarding
• The 4 C’s of onboarding
• The ROI of onboarding
• Best practice and tips for onboarding techniques that engage and excite your new hires

Cheryl Chester developed her 25+ year career as a human resources professional focused in the areas of leadership and organizational development. Her primary areas of expertise include: employee engagement, 360 leadership assessments, action learning leadership development projects, and organizationally-aligned performance management.

She is active in her community and serves on the board of directors for the Institute of Loneliness and is on the Membership Committee for the Human Resources Leadership Forum. She has served as a volunteer at Foodshare as well as a Career Transition volunteer for Jewish Family Services, providing help in resume writing and interviewing to those in job transition. Cheryl has a MS degree in Human Resources from SUNY Albany and a BS degree in Music from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York.
