Trumbull resident selected for scholarship

Anais Nunez of Trumbull was recently selected as the recipient of the Andy Thiede HR Certification Scholarship. The scholarship was created by Andrea (Andy) Thiede, an HR
professional from Berlin, Connecticut, with a strong drive to help others in the HR field. Anais is a Human Resources Generalist at United Way of Connecticut.

Anais was selected for the HR Certification Scholarship based on her passion for helping people feel valued and supported, and making a positive impact in the workplace. She is also pursuing her master’s degree while working full-time as an HR Generalist. Anais will use the scholarship to test for the SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional) designation.

“Earning the SHRM-CP certification will deepen my understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and talent management,” said Anais. She added, “the HR certification will enhance my decision-making skills, provide stronger support to employees and leaders, and contribute more effectively to my organization. My long-term goal is to continue advancing within the HR professional and take on greater responsibilities in HR leadership.”

ABOUT THE ANDY THIEDE HR CERTIFICATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Andy Thiede HR Certification Scholarship was established in 2016 by Andrea (Andy) Thiede, an HR professional from Berlin, Connecticut, who is committed to giving back to the profession. The scholarship helps offset the expense of obtaining an advanced HR certification. To date, Andy has awarded 23 HR certification scholarships, totaling more than $12,000.

Andy is an HR Consultant with KardasLarson LLC, and HRACC’s (Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut) Director of Chapter Operations.
