Andy Thiede, a consultant for KardasLarson, one of Connecticut’s leading HR consulting firms, recently presented her third HR Certification Scholarship. The latest recipient is Javianna Nelson, an HR generalist at a healthcare company in Greater Hartford. She was selected for the scholarship by a board of advisors comprised of HR professionals throughout the state.
Nelson is also enrolled in a master’s degree program in Organizational Psychology at the University of Hartford, is studying for the SHRM-SCP human resources certification, and is a member of the Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut’s Young Professional leadership team. Effectively skilled in multitasking, she proudly maintains a 3.8 GPA and is focused on achieving her career goal as an HR consultant.
“This certification will make a significant positive impact on my ability to continue my professional development and enhance my human resources career,” said Nelson.
With a passion for human resources, and a desire to give back to the profession, Thiede created this scholarship in 2016 to help offset the expense of certification for HR colleagues. In addition to being a consultant at KardasLarson – an organization that provides tactical and strategic HR services targeted to small to midsize businesses, municipalities and nonprofit organizations – she serves in various roles as a board member, advisor, treasurer, and association manager for four non-profit associations in Connecticut, and is dedicated to the advancement of HR professionals. Thiede has been a member of Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut (HRACC) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for more than 20 years and holds both SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications.
