New Connecticut minimum wage

A reminder that effective September 1, 2020, Connecticut’s minimum wage increases from $11 per hour to $12 per hour. All employers must be compliant with this change no later than September 1.

Form I-9 Flexibility Rule Expires

A reminder that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) flexibilities rules extension ends on August 19. This rule relaxed the requirement for employers to physically review required documents needed to complete the Form I-9.

Worker’s Compensation now includes COVID-19

On July 24, Governor Lamont signed an Executive Order providing workers the opportunity to claim worker’s compensation benefits who contracted COVID-19 during the early stages of the pandemic – from March 10, 2020 through May 20, 2020.

Connecticut’s Sexual Harassment Training Requirement – October 1, 2020 – Extension?

Connecticut’s requirement for employers to provide Sexual Harassment training to employees by October 1, 2020, now includes an extension option due to COVID-19 – as approved by the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO)
