Effective January 22, a new I-9 must be used by all employers. This new I-9 is “smart” providing fillable, interactive options enabling users to complete the fields of the form before printing and signing a hard copy. The newest version of the Form I-9 has been made available by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). All previous versions of the Form I-9 will be invalid after January 21st. The new Form I-9 has an expiration date of Aug. 31, 2019.
