YYvette Marciano of Wolcott was recently awarded the Andy Thiede HR Certification Scholarship. Marciano is director of human resources at the Sheraton Hartford South in Rocky Hill.

With more than 25 years in the HR field, Marciano has experience in both the hospitality and staffing industries. She stated “Although I am quite proud of my accomplishments during my career, my professional journey is not complete. The ultimate professional and personal goal for me is to obtain my human resources certification credentials.”

This is the second scholarship in 2016 that Thiede awarded to an HR professional. Thiede is a human resources consultant at KardasLarson, one of the top HR consulting firms in Connecticut.

With a passion for human resources, and a desire to give back to the profession, Thiede created this scholarship to help offset the expense of certification for an HR colleague. She’s been a member of Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut (HRACC) and Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) for more than 20 years and holds both SPHR and SHRM-SCP certifications.
